Why choose this area of Westside LA?

Just south of Santa Monica and adjacent to the neighborhoods of Mar Vista and Marina Del Rey, Venice stands out as one of the most creative, artistic, and unique areas of Los Angeles. The clothing of the locals becomes more and more eccentric as you travel further into the neighborhood and the walls begin to be filled with world-class street art. Compared to other areas of the Westside, Venice has a much less formal vibe; the stores are more boutique in comparison to the high-class options of Beverly Hills, the restaurants are more experimental and the people are more laid back.

On the first Friday of every month, food trucks line the boulevard, accompanied by live music.

Young tech startups thrive in this warm and progressive beach community where Snap Inc was started. Promising startups include ad tech company, System, and virtual reality company, Wevr. Google also launched its first LA office in this market.

Another unique aspect of this area is the Venice Canals, where many walks along the water to take in the quirky architecture of the surrounding houses. Others look forward to the annual Boat Parade, where residents decorate their boats and paddle through the neighborhood.

Playa’s recent popularity can largely be attributed to its buzzing and growing tech scene. Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Microsoft, IMAX and YouTube have already made Playa their home accompanied by hundreds of promising startups.

Part of Playa’s success in bringing big-name corporations to the neighborhood, is the array of community centers that have been developed in the past years. One of the recent projects named Runway is a mixed-use development that incorporates a 200,000 square foot shopping center, numerous office buildings and cutting-edge apartment complexes. Another recently built development is a resident activity club called The Resort. This is an ideal spot for taking the edge off in the state of the art gym, spa and pool.
